This isn’t your aunt’s fruit cake!
This is a really good quilt project for a confident beginner! If you can make a few Half‐Square Triangles you can make this table runner! And if chain stitch it you’ll find that it’ll sew together in no time flat!

Make one table runner & the size is 12 1/4″ x 45 1/4″.
Finished block size is 10″ square | Unfinished block size is 10 1/2″ square.

If you make FOUR (4) “Fruit Basket” quilt blocks (instead of the table runner) you’ll end up with a table runner that’s 20″ square. The table topper shown below has the “Fruit Basket” quilt blocks turned 90° to the left on the bottom row. It makes for an interesting & fun geometrically appeasing table topper!

If you make 16 “Fruit Basket” quilt blocks, you’ll end up with a smaller lap quilt, that’s 40″ square. The lap quilt shown below has THREE (3) “Fruit Basket” quilt blocks, on the top & bottom rows turned 90° in different directions. It makes it look like a Chevron quilt!

If you make 56 “Fruit Basket” quilt blocks, you’ll end up with a quilt,
that’s 70″ x 80″. In the quilt shown below every other row has the “Fruit Basket” quilt blocks turned 90° to the left. It creates the illusion of a colorful Christmas candy bowl!
